Led by veteran selector Geefus, the iconic sound system delivered a dynamic set that blended classic reggae with modern dancehall, perfectly setting the stage for the highly anticipated 22-date tour across the US and Canada. This tour marks the first time in 20 years that all five Marley brothers—Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani, and Damian—are performing together. Renowned for their lasting influence on reggae and dancehall culture, Stone Love’s presence on the tour is a tribute to their pivotal role in sound system history. Geefus, famous for his signature “Traffficccccc” call, kept the audience energised, combining nostalgic tracks with fresh sounds that resonated with both long-time fans and newer listeners. “This tour is a blessing and it feels like everything has come full circle,” Geefus said. “To be a part of something so legendary – sharing the stage with five Marley brothers and spreading the music of reggae icon, Bob Marley, to the world – brings a deep sense of nostalgia. The energy on opening night was unforgettable, and signalled that things were just getting started. Opening in front of nearly 10,000 people was incredible, and many of them who already know Stone Love, responded with pure vibes.” Stone Love ignites crowd at Marley brothers’ legacy tour P eople’s National Party (PNP) President Mark Golding has emphasised the vital role of the creative sector in driving Jamaica’s economic growth. Addressing his party’s 86th annual conference on Sunday, Golding stressed that the state must support the sector to unlock its vast potential for the benefit of all Jamaicans. He announced that, if elected, a PNP-led government would create a single authority to streamline the permitting process for entertainment events. “We will establish 24-hour entertainment zones in suitable locations and develop balanced, clear guidelines under the Noise Abatement Act for night-time entertainment in communities,” Golding stated. The concept of entertainment zones has been championed by PNP member Damion Crawford for some time. Recently, Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, during his Throne Speech at the Ceremonial Opening of Parliament in April, confirmed that the JamWorld Entertainment Complex in Portmore, St Catherine, is set to become Jamaica’s first 24-hour entertainment zone.
