12 THE STAR ENTERTAINMENT • Tuesday, September 17, 2024 @JamaicaStar www.facebook.com/JamaicaStar • www.jamaica-star.com P roduction label Digital One is releasing singles from its new reggae project, the ‘Heart Strings’ rhythm, which was co-produced by ‘Computer Paul’ Henton, with assistance from Llamar ‘Rifffaf’ Brown. The first release is Jah will Lead You by hitmaker Jah Vinci. The project, originally set as a single record, morphed into a juggling project inspired by the message in Jah Vinci’s track and how it connected with Digital One’s CEO Richard Roache. “To be honest, the inspirational nature of this song resonated with me on another level, because I too have been in that place asking for guidance and leadership and having faith in that higher power to take you through some situations,” Roache explained. Roache and his Digital One label are no strangers to producing and promoting hit dancehall and reggae projects worldwide, working with artistes like Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, Tanya Stephens, Beenie Man, Anthony B, Warrior King and Chronixx. Among the most recent projects was the ‘Roots And Righteousness’ rhythm which features artistes like Bugle, Mykal Rose and Junior Reid. “ Jah will Lead You has three major elements which constitutes a hit song: excellent vocals, lyrics and the beat all complementing each other. Jah Vinci delivered above and beyond on the project and we would be insane not to give the track the energy and promotion it deserves,” Roache added. The rhythm will include releases from Turbulence, Ethiopian, Iba Fire, Delly Ranks, and other artistes to be added, with visuals being prepared. Digital One is also preparing to release a new single for viral dancehall artiste Gage titled The Reason, which should kick-start the artiste’s US tour. Currently basking in the success of her latest release, Toxic , the artiste shares that the project has offered her many musical opportunities which she intends to fully exploit. Toxic is a collaboration with 1 Traxs, courtesy of Globis Musica, and managed to peak at No. 21 on the iTunes charts. “The inspiration behind this project was the harsh reality of toxic relationships, so its relatability made it marketable. I live by the notion ‘everything done in the dark must one day come to light’. While making it clear that I understand that relationships are far from perfect, this adds a different layer of relatability to the track,” she said. “The strategy we used to put together this song and the visuals for this single was the ‘cliffhanger’ strategy. We built up suspense throughout the visuals, and ended the video with a plot twist that left viewers wondering and wanting more.” Brook BK said that the anticipation for part two of Toxic is at an all-time high. “We are considering dropping it at an unexpected time. Listeners have made the visuals of the song such a trending topic, that when they see the actresses in real life they are recognisable,” she added. Her team is also gearing up for the release of her follow-up single, Spend Money , which is dedicated to the ladies. She reasoned that since the ladies went through hurt in Toxic , Spend Money will serve as a ‘bounce back’ for them. “I have a team that I have been working with since the beginning to ensure that I receive the best results as an up-and- coming artiste, and with their guidance, we intend to put out music that is unique, but also connects with the target audience while taking advantage of social media, real time, promoting and networking,” she said. Brook BK said that one of her main aims is to connect with women of various demographics through her music. ‘TOXIC’ Brook BK enters US charts with
