21 THE STAR SPORTS • Thursday, September 19, 2024 @JamaicaStar www.facebook.com/JamaicaStar • www.jamaica-star.com BY JIMMIE STAR Racing Writer P RINCIPAL TI FFANY reversed her form to spoil Reggae 6 bets on Sunday, landing the second race as a 5-2 market-springer, resulting in a $31,900 payout. Sunday’s Reggae 6 payout paled in comparison to Saturday’s $60,310, another early market- springer, HIGH DIPLOMACY, reversing form to send bets into a tailspin. Ironically, Rookie had both HIGH DIPLOMACY and PRINCIPAL TIFFANY in The STAR’s Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited Reggae 6 and Twilight 6 Tipsters Compe t i t i on as standalone selections, affirming the versatility of The Gleaner and The STAR tipsters. Take no chances with this week’s Reggae 6 opener at nine furlongs and 25 yards. Horses who need pace to be set up for them to pounce often get into all sorts of problems. Hence, it is best advised to spread bets among the stayers in the opener. Similarly, avoid the banker- trap in the second event. UNBELIEVABLE FORCE and GOODBYE FIREFLY are improving Americans with contrasting running styles. UNBELIEVABLE FORCE is, undoubtedly, quicker but has shown signs of stamina limitations, which could be fatal against GOODBYE FIREFLY, who won going away at middle-distance. In the third, take a chance with HEEZALION, who emerged from the woodwork on last only to find NINA DORADA a nose better at five and a half furlongs. WATERMAN JOHN returns a banker without penalty after being disqualified on last, which makes him a safe bet in the fourth. POPE’S LADY is the controlling speed in the fifth against local- breds at six and a half furlongs, making her a worthy banker as well. Lock those Reggae 6 bets with RUBY’S LIGHT, ROMAN PRINCESS, CHINITA ESTRELLA and LA VIDA in the sixth for maiden fillies at five and a half furlongs.
